The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has communicated that his party will promote the implementation of the mechanism contemplated in Article 102 of the Constitution in order for the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the members of his Cabinet to be investigated for the "very serious facts" linked to the migratory crisis in Ceuta. The formation maintains that there are indications that "justify a judicial investigation for possible crimes of treason and against the security of the State."
"The treason of Pedro Sánchez to the Spaniards must be taken to court," Abascal pointed out in a message published this Saturday on his X account, where he states that "there are indications and evidence more than sufficient" to activate this procedure, "among others the prior knowledge that Sánchez's Government had regarding the invasion of Ceuta."
Vox proposes to resort to the procedure provided for in the aforementioned article, which grants the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court the competence to clarify the possible criminal responsibility of the president and the ministers when they are attributed crimes of treason or against the security of the State committed in the exercise of their functions.
For this mechanism to be implemented, the initiative must be registered by at least one quarter of the deputies of the Congress and receive the support of the absolute majority of the Chamber, a threshold of parliamentary support that Vox lacks on its own.
For this reason, the party has indicated that it places its deputies "at the disposal" of all those parliamentary groups that want to promote the measure and has urged the rest of the political forces to facilitate the processing of the procedure, so that it is the Supreme Court that determines whether there is criminal responsibility.
In a statement released this Saturday, the formation has reminded that Title XXIII of the Penal Code includes the crimes of treason and the crimes against peace, independence, and security of the State.
CLAIMS THE "DECLASSIFICATION" OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH MOROCCO
At the same time, Vox demands the "immediate declassification and delivery to Congress" of all information related to communications between the Government and the authorities of Morocco before, during, and after the events in Ceuta, as well as the documentation and reports prepared by the intelligence services and by the bodies responsible for national security, both in the civil and military spheres.
"The Spaniards have the right to know the whole truth about events that directly affect the territorial integrity, national security, and effective control of the State's borders," the party has emphasized, which considers that, given the "exceptional gravity" of what happened, it is necessary to employ "all the mechanisms" provided in the Constitution to clarify possible political and criminal responsibilities.
In this same line, Vox reiterates that what happened in Ceuta "does not constitute a conventional migratory phenomenon," but rather "an episode of hybrid warfare against Spain," defined, in its view, by "the massive use of illegal immigrants as a tool of pressure on national sovereignty."
