The trips of the Imserso will stop being reserved in the municipalities starting from the 2026-2027 season. Accredited individuals must formalize the purchase through collaborating agencies or via the websites and applications of the companies awarded the program.
The change puts an end to the collaboration system that allowed certain municipalities to process spots directly, a route mainly used by elderly people from rural areas or those with difficulties in managing online.
Reservations move to agencies and digital channels
The Imserso indicates that spots can be reserved on the Social Tourism and Mundicolor pages, through their mobile applications or in person at authorized sales points and agencies. Municipalities will no longer be able to award or market trips directly.
To make the reservation, it will be necessary to have the accreditation letter corresponding to the 2026-2027 campaign. The keys from previous seasons will not be valid, as the organization generates a new personal code each year.
The sending of the letters will begin during the second week of August. Those who do not receive it can check their situation on the electronic headquarters or request information through the customer service phone enabled by the Imserso.
The FEMP conveys the concern of 120 municipalities
The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces has conveyed to the Imserso the concern of 120 municipalities affected by the suspension of the agreements that allowed the awarding of spots in the program.
The municipal organization warns that the change will have a special impact on elderly people from rural areas, who have fewer digital resources and used municipal services to complete the reservation.
The FEMP has met several times with the general director of the Imserso, María Teresa Sancho, to demand a formula that allows municipalities to continue providing support to users, even if they are not the ones marketing the trips.
