The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, held several telephone conversations this Sunday with high-ranking officials from the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Pakistan, in a context of growing tension following Israel's bombings of Beirut and Tehran's response with the launch of projectiles against the north of Israeli territory.
As detailed by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, "Araqchi discussed the latest regional developments in separate phone calls with Yvette Cooper, Hakan Fidan --Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom and Turkey-- and with General Asim Munir, Commander of the Pakistan Army."
Within the framework of these contacts, the head of Iranian diplomacy addressed "Iran's response to the repeated ceasefire violations by the Zionist regime in Lebanon," referring to the latest Israeli military actions on Lebanese territory.
Throughout Sunday, Iran carried out at least three series of projectile launches against northern Israel, which forced the activation of air raid sirens in almost 300 localities and strategic points in the country.
Tehran has presented this operation as a "warning" against the Israeli air attack this same Sunday against Dahiye, the southern Beirut neighborhood considered a stronghold of the Lebanese Shiite party-militia Hezbollah, which has once again placed the Lebanese capital at the center of the regional escalation.
