The spokesperson for the People's Party in the Cortes of Aragon, Ana Marín, has censured this Tuesday in a press conference "the absolute silence" that, in her opinion, the PSOE of Aragon and its general secretary, Pilar Alegría, maintain in the face of the "corruption scandals" affecting the party and the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

Marín has denounced that "Every day a harder, more vulgar, and clearer revelation emerges about the conduct that the main leaders and figures of the PSOE have imposed on Spanish politics, leading Spain to a degradation previously unknown in our country," and has insisted that the Aragonese PSOE remains silent about it.

As she explained, the network "affects prominent leaders and those close to the President of the Government: Zapatero, Cerdán, Ábalos, Koldo, the President's wife Begoña Gómez, and even her brother," for which she has again reproached "the absolute silence of the PSOE of Aragon and Pilar Alegría," whom she accuses of remaining "silent and with the attitude of a mere bystander in the face of extremely serious events."

She has stressed that "This silence is not a coincidence" and has recalled that "the vast majority of the known schemes have had ramifications in Aragonese socialism." In her opinion, the party "is covering up and protecting unacceptable behavior," citing as an example the case of the mayor of Aguarón, Lucio Cucalón.

Regarding this matter, she pointed out: "They lied, assuring that --Lucio Cucalón-- was removed from the party, but just a few days ago they were still being photographed with him and continue to support him with their vote to approve budgets, despite being investigated for corruption."

Marín places the Aragonese PSOE at the center of the schemes

The popular leader has stated that "The PSOE of Aragon and Pilar Alegría are at the epicenter of scandals such as parties with prostitutes paid for with public funds," in which, as she indicated, "Alegría has clear political responsibilities as Government delegate."

Likewise, she has pointed out that "Santos Cerdán's scheme has spread throughout Aragon, as reflected in the investigations," and has lamented that "neither Pilar Alegría nor the Aragonese PSOE have provided explanations."

Regarding the case of Begoña Gómez, Marín pointed out that "the known information shows the existence of practices that directly affect the credibility of the PSOE", emphasizing that "a former high-ranking socialist official even paid for the president's wife's software from a company created after leaving the Government".

For the popular spokesperson, "All this shows that Pilar Alegría's PSOE is not denouncing corruption because it has normalized in Aragon the same practices that have been seen in Ferraz and Moncloa", which, she said, erodes citizen trust.

For this reason, Ana Marín has called on Pilar Alegría to "emerge from her lethargy and show her face once and for all", warning that "this is not solved by remaining silent or burying one's head in the sand".

She stressed that "We are facing a situation that requires immediate political responsibility" and criticized that the socialist leader "is not being exemplary in the face of extremely serious events. For now, Mrs. Alegría continues without resigning".

Finally, she concluded that "Aragon residents deserve explanations, transparency, and consequences", urging the PSOE of Aragon to "break the silence and respond to a situation that admits no further evasions".
