The General Budget Project of Extremadura (PGEx) for 2026 has begun its parliamentary journey this Friday in the Assembly of Extremadura. The process will culminate, if approved, with the vote for the final approval of the regional accounts at the end of the plenary session scheduled for July 29 and 30.

This is stated in the calendar for the processing of the accounts approved this Friday by the Bureau of the Assembly, which sets the deadline for registering amendments in their entirety for this Monday, June 1, a period that will extend until June 5.

On that same day, June 5, the Bureau of the Assembly will meet to qualify the amendments in their entirety, should they have been submitted, and to order the debate of the plenary session, scheduled for Tuesday, June 9.

If the budget project overcomes this first hurdle, on Wednesday, the 10th, and Thursday, the 11th, senior officials from the regional government's departments will appear before the Committee on Finance and Budgets to detail their respective allocations.

The following day, Friday, the 12th, the period for registering partial amendments will open, which will remain available until June 26.

The Bureau of the Assembly will meet again on Monday, July 13, to qualify these amendments and decide on their admission for processing. At that time, the procedure for returning amendments to the articles that involve an increase in spending or a reduction in income to the regional government will begin, allowing the regional executive to respond until Thursday, the 16th.

On Friday, July 17, the Bureau of the Assembly will resolve any reconsideration appeals that have been filed, and on Tuesday, the 21st, the report of the working group of the Committee on Finance and Budgets will be drafted.

This committee will meet on July 23 and 24, Thursday and Friday, respectively, to prepare the opinion and set the reserve of amendments for their defense before the plenary session, the agenda and structure of which will be known on Monday, the 27th.

The final plenary session will begin on Wednesday, July 29, and will conclude on Thursday, the 30th, with the vote on the regional accounts.
