The ruling party in Armenia, Civil Contract, leads the count of the legislative elections held this Sunday, having gathered 54.65% of the ballots, according to the first official data corresponding to 7.2% of the scrutiny.
Following the formation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is the Armenia Strong bloc, led by the Russian millionaire of Armenian origin Samuel Karapetyan, which would obtain 22.1% of the votes.
Next is the Armenian Alliance, of former president Robert Kocharyan, with 8.6%, while the Prosperous Armenia Party, promoted by businessman Gagik Tsarukyan and linked to the Russian ruling party United Russia, would achieve 5.25% support.
The Central Electoral Commission has so far counted 106,322 votes from 332 polling stations and barely any ballots from the capital, Yerevan, have been included, so the final result could experience changes as the count progresses.
