The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has lashed out this Saturday against Spain, a country that, in his words, "is a pity to see" for its "disastrous economic figures", despite the fact that "it contributes almost nothing to NATO".
With these statements, Trump returns to insist on a criticism that he has been repeating for some time against Spain, which he accuses of not contributing enough to the Atlantic Alliance. Back in March, he recalled that Spain was the only partner that opposed allocating 5% of its GDP to defense spending.
"Has anyone noticed how badly Spain is doing? Its economic figures, despite contributing practically nothing to NATO or its military defense, are absolutely disastrous. It's very sad to see," he stated on his social network Truth Social.
