The spokesperson for the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia, Isabel Gadea, has lashed out at the decision of the regional president, Fernando López Miras, considering that he has committed an "authentic infamy" by appointing Isabel Ayala as the new Minister of Health, who already held the highest responsibility of the Murcian Health Service (SMS) during the years in which, according to the investigation by the National Police, the prosthesis plot operated.

According to said investigations, the network would have operated for more than seven years within the SMS, with the use of expired and non-homologated prostheses in surgical operations being confirmed, "putting the health and lives of numerous patients at risk," states Gadea.

The socialist recalled that "facts that the now dismissed Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, repeatedly denied to the public, lying to the population."

For the leader of the PSRM, "after the covert dismissal of the Minister of Health, which López Miras has tried to disguise as a government reshuffling, the appointment of the number two in the health leadership as the new minister is, according to Gadea, an insult to the intelligence of the citizens of this Region."

In the same vein, she emphasized that "López Miras is laughing at the citizens and the hundreds of patients affected by this corrupt plot that profited from the health and lives of the citizens of this Region."

Gadea stressed that the investigation "points to facts of extreme gravity that could also involve an alleged millionaire fraud and that require immediate explanations, absolute transparency, and the assumption of political responsibilities."

In this context, she pointed out that the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Regional Assembly has registered the request for an urgent appearance of Fernando López Miras so that he can provide explanations about the prosthesis plot in the regional Parliament.

Likewise, she explained that a wide range of documentation requests have been submitted for the regional Executive to hand over all information related to this case, and the creation of a specific investigation commission has been requested in the regional Chamber.

Lastly, he recalled that "the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia has appeared as a popular prosecution in this case, because the citizens of the Region of Murcia deserve to know the whole truth. As our general secretary, Francisco Lucas, has warned, we will go to the end of this whole matter, whoever falls."
