The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, has lashed out at political parties that "are already passing judgment" and demanding an early election following investigations opened within the PSOE's circle. In response to these requests, he stressed that the Executive "will continue working".
"I do not downplay the relevance of the investigations, but they are investigations," he said this Saturday in an interview with Televisión Canaria, disseminated by Europa Press, insisting that the procedures must take their course.
Torres also evoked the PP's era with Mariano Rajoy at the head of the Government, recalling that in 2018 no elections were called after the ruling that subsequently led to the no-confidence vote that removed the Popular Party from La Moncloa.
"And now they demand that we call elections -- he observed --. We are going to continue working, generating quality employment, ensuring more women are working, and addressing all housing issues."
In the same vein, the minister demanded "respect" for the organization of the Socialist Party, emphasizing that it "is made up of millions of voters and hundreds of thousands of militants who work honestly every day and get up to support their families."
