Moments from Gozo 💙

Thank you Stockholm! We will keep building a Europe that works for everyone 🇪🇺🇸🇪

Celebrating inclusion, dignity, and equality today at the European Parliament with these incredible people with Down syndrome.

In Brussels tonight, highlighting Europe’s Artificial Intelligence potential at the @Meta AI Symposium. We have the power to succeed. Now we need the self-confidence to meet this moment.

This is the Europe I believe in and work for every day.

Ten years on from the Brussels attacks, the memory remains vivid. With Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, Prime Minister Bart De Wever, and the families of the victims, honouring those lost and whose lives were forever changed. Europe remembers.

“Be not afraid.” Words from Pope John Paul II that defined an era for Europe, and still guide us today as we shape the future. Celebrating 50 years of the @European People’s Party with former Presidents of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso and Jean-Claude Juncker and former President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.

Driving from Malta to Germany as a child and forming my first impressions of Europe. Here’s part of my speech in Berlin this week.

An important #EUCO ahead. On behalf of the @European Parliament, we expect: • Competitiveness: Targeted legislation & deadlines that help our industries grow • Energy: Courageous decisions to lower bills • Ukraine & Iran: Further investment in our security as we push for real peace & liberty

Good to have @UN Secretary General António Guterres back at the @European Parliament 🇪🇺🇺🇳 At this critical moment for global security, multilateralism is essential to tackle shared challenges, deliver lasting peace, and guarantee stability.

Vielen Dank Berlin! Die Zukunft ist Europa! 🇪🇺🇩🇪

Together, we will keep moving Europe forward. In Berlin, with the Chancellor of Germany @Friedrich Merz 🇪🇺🇩🇪

Celebrating Europe’s champions with the iconic, gravity-defying Nadia Comaneci, who won five gold medals 🏅 in gymnastics at the Olympic Games for Romania. She made history at just 14 with a perfect 10.0 (and she also told me that it was so unprecedented that the scoreboards weren’t even programmed to display it 😲). Thank you Nadia for inspiring generations of women and girls across Europe! 💪

@Euronews asked me what our three main priorities as Europeans are right now. Here’s my answer:

Everyone deserves a place to call home. Good news from the European Parliament this week as we approved new solutions to make housing more affordable. Too many people, especially young people, struggle to afford a home and are being priced out. That’s why we need less red tape, more investment and stronger support.

Welcome to the heart of European democracy 🇪🇺 From across Europe, including Malta and Gozo, these trainees are starting their journeys with a commitment to learn, contribute and help shape the next chapter of Europe’s story of hope, progress and opportunity. Our doors are open to the next generation.

One of the most powerful and moving speeches the @European Parliament has ever seen. Jackie Fox shares the heartbreaking story of losing her daughter Nicole to online bullying, and how she transformed that unimaginable grief into action. Her courage led to the creation of Coco’s Law, which makes online abuse and the sharing of intimate images without consent a criminal offence. Watch the remarkable Jackie Fox, an unsung heroine whose strength and determination are helping to change the world.

Welcoming the Prime Minister of Armenia @Nikol Pashinyan to the @European Parliament in Strasbourg 🇪🇺🇦🇲 We stand together in our efforts for peace and stability.

Honoured to announce the first appointments to the European Order of Merit. These Europeans embody the remarkable diversity of excellence and commitment that drives Europe forward and strengthens its standing across the world. Their extraordinary achievements remind us that people from every walk of life can build Europe on a daily basis, shape our Union, and uphold our shared values.

Here's to all those who fought the odds and to those still fighting. To all those women who built families, created companies, raised generations, became champions, had careers, entered politics, lived their truth, stood up. To all those who balance everything, everyday. To all those who are underestimated, denigrated, feel ignored, who get little recognition for all they do, and who rise anyway. To those who struggle or who are still forced to live in fear: keep going, you are unstoppable. Today and every day we honour those who came before, as we make the path smoother for those who come next. #WomensDay #IWD2026

A few moments from my meeting with the fantastic pupils at Stella Maris College in Gzira. Great to see them all showcase their talents and answer their questions. This generation will make Malta & Gozo proud #FutureLeaders 👏

Emotional to return to St Aloysius’ College, where I spent some of my most formative years and where my passion for politics first began to take shape - this time to speak with today’s Secondary School students. So inspiring to see their spirit and enthusiasm, and to exchange ideas with the next generation.

Excellent talks with the new Prime Minister of Netherlands @RobJetten on his first official visit to the @European Parliament, just a week into office and at such a consequential moment for Europe and our place in the world 🇪🇺🇳🇱

Time to reset the relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom 🇪🇺🇬🇧

United. Unwavering. Unbreakable. 🇪🇺🇺🇦 Watch: The @European Parliament marks four years of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine with an address by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Four years of unbreakable courage. Four years of Ukrainians standing tall under immense pressure. Four years of a nation that refuses to yield. Four years of Europe steadfast in its support. History will remember their bravery and the solidarity of those who stood with them 🇪🇺🇺🇦

A faster Europe built on realistic pragmatism. The European Parliament is calling for a new drive, starting with those ready to move forward together.

Incredibly moved to join President Gitanas Nausėda and the people of Lithuania in Vilnius on Restoration of Statehood Day. Tegyvuoja Lietuva! Tegyvuoja Europa! 🇪🇺🇱🇹
