The City Council of Córdoba is promoting "Justo y en su punto," a gastronomic proposal open to all citizens that will take place this Saturday, November 7, starting at 11:00 a.m., at the Ecomercado del Bulevar Gran Capitán. The aim is to find the best dessert made with Fair Trade products in a day that will bring together live cooking, free tastings, and different prizes.

As the organizers explain, the Ecomercado del Bulevar Gran Capitán will be transformed into a meeting point to enjoy artisanal pastry, learn new recipes, and reflect on how purchasing decisions can contribute to a fairer world. Under the name "Justo y en su punto," attendees will have the chance to witness live cooking, taste at no cost artisanal sweets, and take part in a lively dessert contest with gifts.

The proposal is driven by the City Hall, through the Department of Solidarity and Cooperation, and is carried out together with the organization Ideas, within the commitments assumed by Córdoba as part of the international campaign Ciudades por el Comercio Justo. This campaign promotes responsible consumption that drives fairer commercial relationships, decent working conditions, and the protection of the environment.

The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a "showcooking" led by Adela, an artisanal pastry chef from Panzamorena, who will show the public how to make exquisite cookies with Fair Trade and organic ingredients. After the hands-on session, attendees will be able to enjoy a free tasting of cookies, other artisanal sweets, and various drinks.

From 11:50 a.m., a popular contest for the best Fair Trade dessert in Córdoba will be held. Anyone who comes with a sweet prepared at home that includes, at least, an ingredient from Fair Trade may participate. The jury will consider taste, originality, presentation, and the use of Fair Trade, organic, local, or seasonal products. Among the awards are baskets with items from Fair Trade and an experience for two people at the Baños Árabes of Córdoba.

In addition to its culinary side, "Justo y en su punto" aims to show that consuming responsibly can also be a pleasurable experience. Its implementation in the Ecomercado strengthens the link between Fair Trade, organic production, local consumption and social economy, helping to move toward a more sustainable Córdoba committed to global justice.

Participation is free and open to all citizens until the capacity is filled. It is presented as an opportunity to enjoy as a family, discover new flavors and get closer to the sweetest side of Fair Trade. The initiative is supported by the Ecomercado de Córdoba, Panzamorena and the School of Hospitality.
