The EDP Foundation will carry out a new fish repopulation day this Tuesday in the Narcea River, where around 13,000 trout fry will be released. The initiative is developed in collaboration with the Fuentes del Narcea Fishermen's Association, with the aim of reinforcing the populations of this species in the riverbed.

A group of young people from the Penles Integration Support Center (CAI Penles) will also participate in the activity, actively engaging in this river environment conservation action.

The presence of institutional representatives is also expected, including the mayor of Cangas del Narcea, as well as the president and several members of the Fuentes del Narcea Fishermen's Association and representatives from EDP.

This intervention adds to other actions carried out throughout the year to promote biodiversity in Asturian rivers. On June 6, coinciding with Narcenatur, nearly 6,000 fry were released in the Naviego River and, later, 100 one-and-a-half-year-old trout were released for a study promoted by the Ministry of Environment.

Fish repopulations are part of the EDP Foundation's commitment to the protection of natural heritage, the preservation of biodiversity, and the promotion of projects that encourage a sustainable transition and the care of ecosystems.
