The farmers mobilized this Wednesday in Barcelona due to the crisis affecting agriculture have ignited and burned several straw bales in front of the Department of Agriculture of the Generalitat, located on Gran Via, between Balmes Street and Rambla de Catalunya.
The union Unió de Pagesos (UP) has estimated 200 tractors have been dispatched to the Catalan capital to demand from the administrations a "structural reform of the agricultural sector for the continued crises suffered by the farmers."
The tractors departed from different points in Catalunya starting at 5:00 AM, began arriving at the Government Delegation, on Mallorca Street, from 12:30 PM, and the mobilization is expected to conclude in front of the Palau de la Generalitat, in Sant Jaume Square.
