The Council of Ministers has given the green light to an addendum to the agreement signed between the State Entity for Agricultural Insurance (Enesa) and the Spanish Group of Insurance Entities for Combined Agricultural Insurance. With this modification, 57.6 million euros are added to the allocation to subsidize the contracting of policies in 2026, so that the total budget stands at 372.6 million euros.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has stated that this budgetary reinforcement, which implies an increase of 18.2% compared to the initial forecast of 315 million euros, "reflects the Government's commitment to the sector by supporting the best tool available for risk prevention."

The approved addendum aims to expand the credit allocated to support the Annual Agricultural Insurance Plan, address the settlement of previous years' plans, and fund the extraordinary aid to raise the subsidy for the insurance premium of the holders of agricultural operations affected by the damages caused by the storms in January and February, with special incidence in Andalusia and Extremadura.
