The Parliament of Andalusia has already defined the solidarity and international cooperation development projects to which it will allocate the 501,997 euros from the call for grant funding for 2026 for this purpose. Among the initiatives selected are actions in the educational and health fields, as well as projects to guarantee access to safe drinking water in African and American countries such as Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Côte d'Ivoire, Haiti and Guatemala.

The list of the twelve projects that benefit from these Parliament grants is set out in a decision of the Board of the Chamber dated October 28 and published one week later, on Friday, November 6, in the official bulletin of the institution, which Europa Press has had access to.

By decision of the Board of the Parliament of March 26, 2026, the regulatory bases were approved for the awarding of these grants for solidarity and international cooperation for development projects, within the framework of the corresponding call for 2026. This call has an overall allocation of 501,997 euros, of which 353,680 euros come from the Parliament’s budget, 59,150 euros are provided by the institution of the Defensor del Pueblo Andaluz, and the remaining 89,167 euros are financed from the budget of the Chamber of Accounts of Andalusia.

Among the selected initiatives, the European Foundation for North-South Cooperation stands out, as it will receive the largest amount of all the grants awarded: 74,942.40 euros for a project of “prevention of avoidable blindness in women and children in Santchou, Cameroon”.

Likewise, the association Harambee had submitted an application for 72,389.46 euros for a project of “strengthening a network of four primary health care centers for the prevention of childhood sickle cell disease and cervical cancer in the outskirts of Kinsasa”, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, the Parliament has proposed reducing the grant to 51,864.56 euros, urging the NGO to “reformulate its project or provide evidence that it has the necessary funds to cover the difference of 20,524.90 euros” with respect to the amount initially requested.

On the other hand, the organization Prodiversa-Progreso y Diversidad will receive a subsidy of 66,065.20 euros for the project “Safe and healthy schools: access to water, sanitation and hygiene in Thiotte, Haiti”.

Another of the actions supported in this call is that of the NGO Pozos sin Fronteras, which will receive 57,749 euros for the project "Implementation of drinking water systems in the rural municipality of Lena promoting a change in the role of women and the involvement of local institutions in community development", to be carried out in Burkina Faso.

With an amount close to, though somewhat smaller than, 51,484.51 euros, the Fundación Amigos de Monkole, from Côte d’Ivoire, will develop the project "Prevention and comprehensive care of sickle cell anemia in pregnant women and vulnerable population of Yamusukro".

MORE PROJECTS SUPPORTED BY PARLIAMENT

The lineup of initiatives that will benefit from these grants also includes the project of the NGO África Arco Iris, which will receive 40,000 euros for a campaign to vaccinate against meningitis aimed at children in Côte d’Ivoire in 2026, as well as that of the Asociación Voluntariado Interculturalidad Desarrollo, Educación y Sostenibilidad desde el Sur (VidesSur), focused on "Sustainable family poultry farming to improve food security and livelihoods in the canton El Sauce", in Tonacatepeque, in El Salvador.

Likewise, Parliament has awarded 29,000 euros to the Asociación Mol Beh Taa for the project "Construction of a classroom building to teach primary school classes" at the preschool 'Blas Infante', in Douassu (Gambia). In addition, it has granted 28,429 euros to the NGO Escolares Sin Fronteras for the initiative "A space to dream", to be carried out in Senegal, and another 28,000 euros to the association 'El Mundo y África trabajan' for the project "construction of a manual drinking water well in the village of Ndocbele, in Cameroon, also in Africa therefore."

The grant agreement also provides for assistance of 25,000 euros for the association Paz y Bien, intended to support a project of "Equipment of a minor operating room as a guarantee of access for the most vulnerable population to equitable health in the Dry Corridor of Guatemala, in compliance with the SDG --Sustainable Development Goal-- 3". Finally, it has been decided to subsidize the project "Education and future: empowerment of minors and young people in Beira, Mozambique", promoted by the association Siloé Jerez, with 13,350 euros.

Against this agreement of the Parliament Bureau relating to the granting of the subsidies, an appeal for reconsideration may be lodged with the governing body of the Chamber itself, "with an optional nature, within one month from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía" (BOJA), or else "an administrative contentious appeal before the corresponding Contentious-Administrative Division of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, within a period of two months from the day following its publication" in the BOJA.
