The spokesperson of the PP in the Cortes of Aragón, Ana Marín, has made a very critical assessment of what, in her opinion, the nearly eight years of Pedro Sánchez's governments have meant for the Community. She has described them as a "resounding failure in each and every area of responsibility" of the central Executive in Aragón. In her view, "Sánchez has based his government on lies, failure, and confrontation; each and every one of the ministries accumulates failures and grievances towards our Autonomous Community."
In terms of infrastructure, Marín maintains that the result of these years is "disastrous." She has recalled that "today we are still waiting for a solution for the Sabiñánigo variant, a completed work that the ministry is unable to put into operation due to not knowing how to resolve a conflict with the company. Eight years of Government and we are still waiting for the duplication of the A-68. We still know nothing about the A-40 in Teruel or the N-330, among many other pending infrastructures."
The popular spokesperson has added that, in addition to not advancing in key projects for the structuring of the territory, the Executive has made decisions that, in her opinion, hinder the future of the Community. She cited as an example "only this way is the decision about the Cantabrian-Mediterranean corridor understood, which they intend to be a 19th-century route in the section between Teruel and Sagunto. The railway connection between Teruel and Zaragoza has still not been restored due to a disaster in management and planning of the works, which has led to travelers being without a train for more than a year and having to travel by bus. And as if all this were not enough, they have destroyed the AVE, turning it into an unreliable service with delays and more delays."
She has also focused on the situation of hydraulic works, which she considers blocked. As she explained, "it has been eight years of traffic jams, blockages, and obstacles from within the Ministry. Eight years without starting Almudévar, eight years with Yesa and Mularroya at a standstill."
In this line, he has recalled that, recently, "we learned that they have been unable to execute even 35 percent of the works contemplated in the River Basin Hydrological Plan, the one in which they already cut necessary infrastructures for Aragón and that on top of that they are now unable to execute. And by the way, in that meeting of the Monitoring Commission, it was the CHE itself that said that the data centers did not pose any problem of water supply, what poses a problem is the neglect and inaction of Sánchez when it comes to finishing the pending works of the Water Pact, that clear."
Public services and confrontation with the autonomous communities
Marín has pointed out that, since his arrival at Moncloa, Sánchez has opted for a policy of division among Spaniards and for confrontation with the Autonomous Communities, especially with those governed by the PP. According to the deputy, the president "has waged a war with the Autonomous Communities, mostly governed by the Popular Party, to punish Spaniards, in this case, the Aragonese, for not having supported him at the polls."
He has denounced what he considers a continued attack on essential public services. In the health sector, he has particularly criticized the actions of the Ministry of Health, which he labels as "especially harmful." In his opinion, "in Spain there is a structural problem of lack of professionals, the Sánchez Government has not only abstained, it has blocked the possibility of having more doctors in our country, refusing to expand the MIR positions among other things. Its Framework Statute without negotiation, imposed and that does not provide answers to professionals has led us to a strike that increases waiting lists in Aragón and throughout Spain."
Regarding social services, he has reproached the central Executive for not fulfilling the committed financing for dependency, assuring that "they continue not to finance 50 percent of dependency. To the Basque Country and Catalonia yes, to Aragón no." In education, he has emphasized that the Government's model has been called into question after the latest results of the PISA report. According to him, "he understands education as an element of confrontation and forgets the important thing, that our children receive a quality education. They approved sectarian laws and are more concerned with teaching mathematics with a gender perspective than ensuring a quality education for our children."
The popular leader has particularly pointed out the Ministry for Ecological Transition as one of the most harmful to Aragonese interests. She has stated that "the frontism and the attack on the Communities and especially on the progress of Aragon has had a ministry as a protagonist, that of Ecological Transition. "Eight years of government and they still haven't resolved the energy contests. Eight years blocking the industrial and technological development of Aragon but approving an energy quota for Catalonia. Now they attack data centers with lies like that of water consumption, denied by the CHE itself and with brutal regulations to block data centers in Aragon."
In her speech, she insisted that "they have had nothing to offer, they have not supported the productive fabric and they insist on harming the growth and prosperity of Aragon."
Financing model and jurisdictional conflicts
Marín has harshly criticized the autonomous financing model that, according to her, the Government tried to push forward to ensure the support of nationalist and independentist forces. She has assured that "another attack on the future and development of Aragon has been the autonomous financing model that they intended to impose to guarantee the support of nationalists and independentists. "They made it clear: more money for Catalonia and out with the depopulation from the model, in a brutal attack on the maintenance of our public services. Less debt for Catalonia and more debt for all Aragonese. Pitting territories against each other to stay in power. That has been their policy. They are the responsible ones."
The spokesperson for the PP has reiterated that "there has not been a ministry that has not launched attacks against Aragon, with Bolaños cutting judicial positions or with the Minister of Culture refusing to comply with a ruling, that of the paintings of Sijena, which gives reason to Aragon, which is firm and which returns to the Aragonese what is ours."
Housing policy and clashes with the Government of Aragon
In the area of housing, Marín has defended the management of the regional government of Jorge Azcón and has denounced the obstacles that, according to her, the central Government is putting up. She has highlighted that the "powerful" housing policy promoted by the Government of Aragon "from the very first moment of its arrival in Government went from being put as an example by the Minister of Housing to being sabotaged by her manifest incapacity."
At this point, he lamented that "they have denied us lands that are ours to continue building housing. They have denied us Defense lands. None of the housing from the SAREB, and today they intend to take housing as a banner to go to elections. And they do it also with fury, mud, and confrontation. Eight years of failures and occurrences."
Accusations of corruption and institutional degradation
In the final stretch of his intervention, Marín has raised the tone of his criticisms and has accused Sánchez of having crossed all red lines. He has assured that "there has been no limit, neither political, nor ethical nor moral that Pedro Sánchez has not crossed. "The president under whose mandate corruption has settled in Moncloa, in his house and in Ferraz has also allowed those corrupt networks to reach Aragón. From the parties with whores of Ábalos in the Parador de Teruel and in Zaragoza, to the kickbacks of Servinabar, the shady deals of Cerdán and Antxón and Leire in Aragón."
Marín has added that "the absolute degradation, the maximum immorality when we have even seen the granting of the third degree prison to terrorists. Pedro Sánchez has been a disastrous president for Aragón, and all with the consent of Pilar Alegría, who arrived in Aragón with a single objective, to continue raising Pedro Sánchez's wall against the Aragonese."
