The deputy spokesperson of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Patricia Gómez Urbán, has criticized this Tuesday the Junta of Castilla and León for, in her opinion, belittling the patients and users of the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid, a center that the Valladolid representative considers to be in a "lamentable" state due to a thirteen-year delay in the works that, as she has emphasized, "bears the stamp of the PP," of which eight correspond to the mandate of Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.
Gómez Urbán has insisted that "during these eight years Mañueco has done nothing, not even budgeted an item for those works in those so-called fake budgets, neither in those nor in any," and has reproached the president of the Junta for now promising to complete the renovation and rehabilitation works of the Clínico, something she interprets as an attempt to "laugh in the face" of the people of Valladolid. To this delay, she has added the thirteen years of accumulated delay in the project of the Health Center of La Magdalena.
On the other hand, the Minister of Health, Alejandro Vázquez, has denied that there is abandonment or contempt on the part of the regional government, although he has admitted that the citizens of Valladolid demand an update of the facilities to emphasize next: "They are right and there is no doubt that we are going to act."
In this line, he has announced that in the next general budgets of the Community, a specific item will be included to address the improvement works of the infrastructure. At the same time, he has stressed that the Clinical Hospital of Valladolid is a reference center both nationally and internationally, which has "extraordinary professionals" and carries out care, teaching, and research work "of the highest level."
"As a woman from Valladolid, she should feel proud of them instead of permanently joining a discrediting discourse that does not correspond to reality," the Minister of Health has pointed out addressing the socialist representative.
