The síndic of Compromís in Les Corts, Joan Baldoví, has underscored that "there is still much to do" in the area hit by the dana of October 29, 2024, of which this Thursday marks two years, and has again censured the PP for keeping the 'expresident' of the Generalitat Carlos Mazón as an autonomous deputy and "with privileges such as chauffeur, salary, adviser and an apartment in Alicante".

These statements were made before the media after taking part in a minute of silence called by the Valencian parliament for the Urda (Toledo) railway accident, whose death toll stands at 69.

Baldoví has emphasized that "today also marks two years since the tragic anniversary of the dana is commemorated", which devastated dozens of Valencian municipalities and caused 233 deaths.

As a balance, he has indicated that "in the dana area there are many works to be done, there are schools in barracks and only a miserable 1.97% of the works in education have been carried out". "In short, there is still much to do", he lamented.

At the same time, he reproached that "we still have a person who that day gave up his obligations as 'president'" --alluding to Mazón, who resigned more than a year after the dana because of his management of the catastrophe--. "And not only have they not made him resign, but they have also rewarded him with privileges such as chauffeur, salary, adviser and an apartment in Alicante", he emphasized about the prerogatives that Mazón maintains as 'expresident' and PP deputy in Les Corts.

In this context, Baldoví maintained that "the victims deserved much more from this government than what has been done in these two", referring to the Consell.
