The head of the PP list for the Senate for Valencia, Susana Camarero, has demanded of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that he provide explanations taking advantage of his visit this Friday to València, where he will take part in a PSOE rally within the pre-campaign for the 29N. Her demands come after the new UCO registration at the home of the former Valencian minister José Luis Ábalos and the detention of several people.

"Tomorrow Pedro Sánchez will be in Valencia and he will have to give explanations. He will have to explain why he appointed Ábalos as minister, why he dismissed him, and above all why after dismissing him he kept him as number two on the Congress lists for Valencia," the also vice president of the Generalitat has demanded.

In a note circulated to the media, Camarero has stated that "the corruption of the PSOE once again places the Comunitat Valenciana in the shameful place at the epicenter of the corruption of the socialist party," and she has underlined that the new registration shows that "there is still a lot to know about all the plots that surround the Government of Pedro Sánchez."

The 'popular' candidate has focused on the detention of Cristian Corvillo, identified as Sánchez’s former driver when he was General Secretary of the PSOE: "It is devastating to see how those who accompanied Sánchez in his dubious conquest of power have ended up convicted or under the spotlight of justice."

Likewise, she has brought up the convictions of Ábalos and his former adviser, Koldo García, as well as the judicial situation of the former PSOE Secretary of Organization Santos Cerdán. In her view, "corruption lurks around Sánchez by surrounding the most intimate core of 'sanchismo'.“

The head of the list for the Senate has emphasized the seriousness of the investigations into alleged irregularities in public works awards and rail contracts: "We are talking about public money, about million-euro contracts and about institutions that should be at the service of citizens, not the interests of a plot."

"Morant also cannot keep looking the other way"

She has also demanded of Sánchez that he clarify his relationship with Corvillo and what "he knew about the activities of those who accompanied him during the PSOE primaries". And she has pointed out that the leader of the PSPV and Minister of Science and Universities, Diana Morant, "who shared the candidacy with Ábalos, also cannot keep looking the other way".

For this reason, he has reiterated that “corruption is in the political and moral DNA of the Government of Sánchez”: “Spain does not deserve a president who hides while his entourage falls apart in front of the courts.”

In electoral terms, Camarero has argued that on 29 November “it represents an opportunity to open a new stage in Spain, based on decency, democratic regeneration, and the restoration of trust in institutions, with the project of the Partido Popular led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo.” He has asserted “the need for a government that offers certainty and stability, addresses the problems of citizens, and restores exemplary conduct to politics.”

At the same time, the National Court has ordered the UCO to carry out six arrests in order to take statements within the framework of the new secret separate piece of the ‘caso Koldo’, led by magistrate Ismael Moreno, who has also requested documentation from Adif and from the company Azvi.

As procedure sources confirmed to Europa Press, among those detained is Andrea de la Torre, partner of Ábalos—imprisoned after being convicted by the Supreme Court—whose home in València was registered again this Thursday, from where the UCO agents left with several boxes.
