The presiding judge of seat 1 of the Trial and Instruction Section of the Zafra Court (Badajoz) has ordered the release of the third person arrested in the case linked to the mail-in ballot fraud that occurred on December 18 of last year, imposing on him the obligation to appear in court on the 1st and 15th of each month.
In addition, the judge has established as precautionary measures the prohibition of leaving the national territory and the withdrawal of his passport.
As detailed in a press release by the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura (TSJEx), the proceedings are being investigated for two alleged crimes of theft with force, another in attempted degree, belonging to a criminal group, and document forgery.
The events occurred in December of last year in the town of Fuente de Cantos, Badajoz, a few days before the regional elections were held.
Likewise, other robberies or attempted robberies in the municipal districts of Monesterio and Los Santos de Maimona are attributed to them. The other two detainees were brought before the court on May 13, and provisional detention without bail was ordered for both.
