The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños, has expressed his rejection of the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos, who was sentenced by the Supreme Court to 24 years in prison, and has taken the opportunity to urge the PP to include businessman Víctor de Aldama, identified as a facilitator of the 'Koldo' scheme, in their candidacies.
"Deep respect for the sentence and disgust with corruption," Bolaños stated during his speech this Tuesday at the government control session in the Senate, in response to a question from the Popular Party group about whether he fears the actions of justice.
In his response, the minister encouraged the PP to include Aldama in the party's upcoming electoral lists and thus "make their love public," after emphasizing that the businessman is "defaming all the progressives he can think of and with four million euros in his pocket."
The head of Justice stressed that corruption "disgusts" and "repels" him, and that this rejection is even greater "when it involves people who have been appointed by this government."
Bolaños defended that in the Supreme Court, in the 'mask case', there has been "an investigation and a trial with all guarantees," and contrasted this case with "some investigation" that, as he denounced, "has no guarantees," referring to his criticism of Judge Juan Carlos Peinado for the investigation into Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
On the other hand, the PP spokesperson in the Senate, Alicia García, reproached the Executive for being "very brave with the convicted person and very cowardly with the one who appointed him," and maintained that the "sole responsible party" is the President of the Government, whom she urged to do "the only decent thing left for him, call elections."
