The president of the Balearic Parliament, Gabriel Le Senne, assured this Wednesday that he is "calm" before the pre-trial hearing for an alleged hate crime, and made it clear that he rules out any kind of agreement while the parties maintain the accusations.

The second authority of the Balearic Islands arrived around 10.25 hours this Wednesday at the Provincial Court, accompanied by his lawyer, Marta Castro, to attend the hearing in which the preparation of the eventual trial must be specified.

During his appearance before the media, Le Senne also took the opportunity to convey his condolences to the relatives of the victims of the train accident that occurred in Toledo.

If an understanding is finally not reached between the parties, the Provincial Court will have to set a date for the holding of the oral trial against the also leader of Vox in the Balearic Islands.

The procedure dates back to February 2025, when the investigating judge agreed to open oral trial against Le Senne for, allegedly, tearing up an image of the Roges del Molinar, victims of Francoism, during a plenary session of the Parliament in which the repeal of the democratic memory law was being discussed --for the first time, since there was later a second debate--.

Subsequently, the defense of the politician and the Public Prosecutor's Office filed respective appeals against some of the rulings of the investigating magistrate, which left the procedure in suspense pending what the Provincial Court would decide.

Finally, the judicial body rejected both appeals in June of last year and, consequently, the ruling that obliged Le Senne to sit in the dock was definitively confirmed.
