The Investigating Court number 1 of Gijón is scheduled to receive, at first thing this Sunday, presumably before 10:00 a.m., the ten detainees who will be placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities as part of the police operation against members of the far-right organization Núcleo Nacional.
Among the ten arrested, two live in Gijón and one in Avilés, while the other seven will be taken to Asturias from different courts across the Spanish territory in order to appear before the competent judicial authority.
During the course of this operation, the National Police have carried out a total of 14 arrests, in addition to executing ten searches in Madrid, Asturias, Guadalajara, Valladolid, Pontevedra, Burgos and Alicante, including the headquarters of the organization in the capital of the State.
Among the people detained are several leaders of the far-right organization, as sources familiar with the procedure have confirmed to Europa Press. The police operation was still active in the afternoon of this Friday and the possibility of further arrests was not ruled out.
The investigation carried out by the General Intelligence Directorate has made it possible to seize a large amount of material linked to Núcleo Nacional in the ten searches carried out, both at its main headquarters in Madrid and at various private residences.
The investigated persons are attributed alleged crimes of incitement to hatred, illegal association and possession of weapons. The secrecy surrounding the proceedings in relation to these events has been lifted after the arrests, although the operation remains ongoing, according to the information released by the High Court of Justice of Asturias.
