The judge of the National Court who is investigating the 'Koldo case' has ordered the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Guardia Civil to send a copy of the mobile phone of the former ministerial adviser Koldo García.

At the same time, the magistrate Moreno has asked the UCO to hand over a copy of the electronic devices and the “intervened evidence” to businessmen Daniel Sierra and Íñigo Rotaeche, executives of Soluciones de Gestión, a company linked to the businessman and facilitator Víctor de Aldama, as well as to businessman Juan Carlos Cueto, all of whom are being investigated in this case.

“Having seen the status of these proceedings and the time that has passed without the acting police force having delivered to this judicial body a copy of the intervened evidence to the investigated parties Íñigo Rotaeche and Juan Carlos Cueto, proceed with its reiteration,” the judge states in a ruling that Europa Press has obtained.

Along the same lines, Moreno decides to request again from the police unit “so that it provides a copy of the mobile and electronic devices intervened in Daniel Sierra and Koldo García,” in accordance with the judicial resolution.

These steps are triggered on the same day that UCO agents carry out an operation linked to the opening of a secret separate file that Moreno agreed to yesterday, Wednesday, within the 'Koldo case'.

The investigators have searched the home of former Transport minister José Luis Ábalos and have made a request at Adif headquarters. In addition, they have carried out six detentions, including those of Andrea de la Torre, Ábalos’s partner, and Cristian Corvillo, identified as the former chauffeur of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

In this case, the investigating judge keeps several lines of investigation open. The one that gave rise to the proceedings focuses on the alleged irregularities in the purchase of face masks during the pandemic, for which Juan Carlos Cueto was charged.

The segment relating to face-mask contracts was partially tried by the Supreme Court, which placed former Transport minister José Luis Ábalos, his former adviser Koldo García, and businessman Víctor de Aldama in the dock, due to the status of an exempted member of parliament that the former Transport minister held when he was prosecuted.

The high court imposed the three prison sentences --Ábalos to 24 years, Koldo to 19, and Aldama to four--, although it allowed the businessman and commission agent to evade his entry into prison for his collaboration with the justice system and on the condition that he does not reoffend.

Moreno also investigates alleged rigging in public works contracts and cash payments by the PSOE between 2017 and 2024 to reimburse expenses advanced, a case that also remains under secrecy of proceedings.
