The National Court has ordered the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Guardia Civil to detain six people in order to take their statements in a new separate and secret piece of the 'Koldo case', led by Judge Ismael Moreno, who has also requested documentation from Adif and the construction company Azvi.

Legal sources cited by Europa Press indicate that among those detained is Andrea de la Torre, the partner of the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos -- currently in prison after being convicted by the Supreme Court --. Her home in Valencia has been searched again this Thursday and the UCO agents have left the residence with several boxes.

Among the arrest orders is also Cristian Corvillo, whom the PP identifies as the driver of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, during the 2017 PSOE primaries. The main opposition party had already called on him to appear in the 'Koldo commission' of the Senate, where he invoked his right not to testify.

Cristian Corvillo testified on September 3 of last year before Judge Santiago Pedraz, the investigating judge in the 'fuel case', admitting that he had met with former Minister Ábalos regarding matters related to the PSOE and that both he and his brother Rubén maintained a business relationship with the facilitator Víctor de Aldama, although he specified that those operations did not end up materializing.

The provincial leadership of the PSOE in Córdoba has stressed this Thursday that Cristian Corvillo is a businessman and a rank-and-file member. "He does not hold any organizational or institutional position on behalf of the PSOE, beyond his affiliation as a rank-and-file member of the party," he said.

Requests to Adif and to the construction company Azvi

Within these proceedings, the agents also had an order to request information from Adif, within the framework of the actions agreed after the magistrate of the National Court who investigates the 'Koldo case', Ismael Moreno, decided on Wednesday to open a new piece after receiving a report from the UCO.

Searches and requests have been carried out in Córdoba, Valencia, Madrid and Seville. To this last city, units of the Guardia Civil have been sent to gather documentation at the headquarters of the construction company Azvi.

The president of Azvi, Manuel Contreras, has already declared as a witness before the Supreme Court in the trial for the 'masks case', where he denied having made payments or deliveries of money to the alleged network being investigated in the 'Koldo case'.

From the company, they have explained to Europa Press that this Thursday they have limited themselves to responding to the request for information issued by the judicial authority, emphasizing that this is a set of proceedings subject to secrecy and that, therefore, they cannot detail the requested documentation, to preserve confidentiality and not interfere with the work of the investigators.

"From Grupo Azvi we want to convey our utmost peace of mind regarding this action, as well as our full confidence in the work of the competent authorities," they said.

The masks case was, in part, prosecuted by the Supreme Court, which put on the witness stand the former minister José Luis Ábalos, his former adviser Koldo García, and the businessman Víctor de Aldama, since the then member of Parliament and former Transport minister was an official with special status at the time he was prosecuted.

The high court imposed prison sentences on the three—24 years for Ábalos, 19 for Koldo and four for Aldama—although it allowed the businessman and middleman to avoid entering jail in view of his collaboration with Justice and on the condition that he does not reoffend.

Meanwhile, Judge Moreno keeps open another line of investigation into alleged rigging in public works contracts and into cash payments by the PSOE between 2017 and 2024 to reimburse expenses advanced, a piece that also remains under secrecy of the proceedings.
