The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, pointed out this Wednesday that the regional Executive now has all its efforts directed at "helping" to mitigate the consequences of the serious railway accident that occurred in the province of Toledo, an incident that "once again returns to shake" the same train line on which the Adamuz crash occurred, with more than 40 dead.

From the headquarters of the Madrid 112 Security and Emergencies Agency (ASEM112), in Pozuelo de Alarcón, the Madrid leader has emphasized that all available means have been activated to collaborate in the management of the accident. "All our attention, sleeplessness and work are right now solely focused on helping to alleviate the effects of this devastating accident," she indicated after taking part in the meeting held in the ASEM112 crisis room.

In this context, she explained that, "of course," it has been decided to postpone the presentation of the regional Budgets, scheduled for approval in the Governing Council, since the immediate priority is attending to the victims. To them she has conveyed her "solidarity, affection and support" and has stressed that "The Community of Madrid will be by their side at all times", after it was confirmed that the number of dead now exceeds 60 people.

The Madrid Government has intensified its involvement in the response to the railway accident recorded at the height of the Urda station (Toledo), with the sending of health resources, Emergency teams, forensic personnel and the installation of an advanced health post at Atocha station.

For the care of the injured, the public hospitals of La Paz, Getafe and 12 de Octubre have been made available, to which some affected people have already been transferred, totaling 922 prepared beds. In addition, a health post has been deployed in which 11 people have been attended to and a helicopter has been mobilized to support the emergency work. Added to this is a psychological care device for victims and family members at Atocha station.
