The President of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, has called on the leader of CHA, Jorge Pueyo, to apologize after the Electoral Board rejected the complaint filed by the left-wing Aragonese formation regarding doubts about the reliability of postal voting that Azcón himself raised ahead of the general elections of November 29.
The resolution also overturns the suspicions raised by the Vice President of the Government of Aragón and Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Culture, Mar Vaquero, as well as by the Vice President of the regional Executive and Minister of Deregulation, Social Welfare and Family, Alejandro Nolasco.
In a press appearance, Azcón pointed out that this matter was already addressed in the plenary session of the Cortes of Aragón last Friday, and he stressed that Jorge Pueyo is the "only" political leader in the entire country who has brought the statements on postal voting before the Electoral Board.
Azcón recalled that then he proposed a mutual commitment: if the electoral body backed Pueyo's position, he himself would apologize; if not, he demanded that the president of CHA do the same. "I told him that if they did not give Pueyo the reason and all the accusations he has made in front of the media or in parliamentary session were shown to be false by the resolution of the Electoral Board, what he should do, if he has a bit of shame, is hold a press conference and apologize to us."
The head of the Aragonese Executive has added that he had already advanced then that the CHA leader "would neither hold a press conference nor apologize, because that is Mr. Pueyo's style, that is the style of someone who understands that lying when it comes to politics is the usual way the left works and in that Mr. Pueyo feels as comfortable as Mrs. Alegría," he concluded.
