The spokesperson for Adelante Andalucía, José Ignacio García, has ratified that the eight deputies of his parliamentary group will not attend the Plenary of the Andalusian Parliament scheduled for next November 11, as a gesture of support for the general strike called for that day by CCOO, UGT, and the Tenants' Union.
"We think it is fundamental and we believe that this is the moment when the working class of Andalusia has to hit the table and say 'Enough is enough!'", he emphasized this Wednesday at a press conference in the Parliament.
In addition, García detailed that both the deputies and the staff of Adelante will donate their salary corresponding to that day to the tenants' unions and the Housing Movement in Andalusia, in coherence with their support for the protest.
In this context, he urged the organization's membership to join the general strike and to "participate in the unitary committees to build that strike." "Housing cannot be a market commodity, it cannot be something to speculate on, but it must be outside the market. It has to be a fundamental right," he stressed.
Alongside the deputies of Adelante, the five deputies of the group Por Andalucía will also not attend the Plenary. In the session on November 11, the debate on the amendments to the regional budgets for the year 2027 is scheduled, and the Andalusian formation has specified that they will not request any modification to the date set for the celebration of the Plenary.
