The alliance seeks to bring its ultrasound technology closer to more clinics and to support professionals in their incorporation into clinical practice
Interest in aesthetic treatments of solutions that combine technological innovation, effectiveness, and naturalness continues to grow. In line with this trend, Sofwave, a company specialized in advanced technologies for non-invasive facial rejuvenation, is taking a step in its growth strategy in Spain with the incorporation of Optimedic as its main distributor in the national market.
Since its arrival in the Spanish market, Sofwave has advanced in the aesthetic medicine sector, sparking interest among professionals who bet on non-surgical treatments and are aimed at improving skin quality in a natural way.
At present, its technology is already present in reference centers and clinics such as Maribel Yébenes, in Madrid; Dr. Helena Delso, in Zaragoza; Dr. Virginia Benítez, in Marbella; and Dr. Vilella, in Soria, among other professionals, considered elite in their field.
A strategic alliance to bring innovation to more professionals
The collaboration is supported by Optimedic’s commercial experience and sector knowledge to facilitate access for new centers and specialized practices to Sofwave technology.
"Bringing a technology to clinics requires understanding their needs and supporting professionals in their incorporation into daily practice. With Sofwave, we want to foster a close and lasting relationship, in which innovation goes hand in hand with medical judgment and rigorous information for patients. This alliance represents an opportunity to continue moving forward in aesthetic medicine that respects the naturalness of each face," says Carolina Gay Sorrius, founder and managing director of Optimedic.
A sector seeking natural results
According to the perception report on aesthetic medicine presented by the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SEME) in April 2026 and prepared by Sigma Dos, 46% of the Spanish population has undergone some beauty treatment. More than 70% identify among their objectives the comprehensive improvement of health, including the physical dimension and self-esteem, and controlled aging.
Ultrasound for non-invasive rejuvenation
Sofwave uses a synchronized parallel-beam ultrasound system, called SUPERB™, designed to act in a controlled manner on the mid-dermis. According to the company, ultrasound energy supports the skin repair and remodeling mechanisms, the production of collagen and elastin, and the processes associated with the renewal of hyaluronic acid.
The company states that it has published clinical studies and international regulatory authorizations for specific indications. The communication of these uses must be in line with the documentation and applicable indications in each market.
The push for Sofwave’s growth
In June, Sofwave took part in the 58th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE) and in the XXXV Congress of the Spanish Society of Oculoplastic Surgery (SECOP). In September, the company participated in the European Oculoplastics Congress and in the Portuguese Congress of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Estoril, Portugal.
The next appointment will be the AECEP Meeting 2026 from November 19 to 21 in Madrid, where Optimedic will be present with Sofwave.
