The new ambient listening solution from VoxNexus works on the device for 12 hours with 2.49 % of a phone's battery and never sends audio to the cloud.

VoxNexus (www.VoxNexus.ai) has launched VoxSense, a low-power ambient listening solution for Android that works entirely on the device. VoxSense offers 12 hours of listening with only 162 mAh, less than 2.5 % of a 6500 mAh battery. It processes everything it hears locally, so audio is never sent to the cloud.

The AI of the future should be able to understand the world beyond instructions and act before being asked. Continuous listening is essential for that future, but battery consumption and the implications of cloud processing for privacy remain challenges.

VoxNexus solves both challenges with a two-tier architecture that runs detection and transcription on the low-power core of a system on chip (SoC), and activates the main processor only when additional processing is needed. This way, it can capture an unexpected work conversation, remember a dinner plan agreed upon in a hallway, or detect a baby's cry, without the user touching the device and without it resorting to the cloud.

"For a decade, voice assistants have waited for a wake word. VoxSense is designed for what comes next: an AI that is already listening, knows what matters, and keeps every word on your device," says Charles Shi, CEO of VoxNexus.

VoxNexus has also launched ready-to-use software development kits (SDKs) for VoxEdge, its suite of voice technologies that run on the device. Developers can combine audio functions according to their application needs and easily integrate audio intelligence on the device through a simple SDK: speech recognition in 36 languages, translation in 103 languages, and speech synthesis in 45 languages. AI solution creators and device manufacturers can request a free trial here: www.VoxNexus.ai.

VoxSense and VoxEdge were unveiled at the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 launch, held in Madrid on October 19.
