The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has stood tall before the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, for his management in housing matters, and has placed the number of homes delivered since his arrival in the Mayor's Office in 2019 at 5,000, a year after Sánchez's arrival at La Moncloa.

The Madrid mayor has released a video on social media to respond to some words from Pedro Sánchez, in which the head of the Executive stated that the PP cannot "expect anything" because "its only housing project is the law of the jungle'."

"Last week we delivered the 5,000th home since we arrived at the Government here in the City Council under an affordable rental scheme. To give you an idea, while the left made 17 homes in 4 years, we have delivered 17 homes every 10 days since we have been in Government," claimed the mayor of the capital.

At the same time, he criticized both the PSOE and Más Madrid for voting against this Thursday, in the extraordinary Plenary, two special plans promoted by the Urbanism, Environment, and Mobility area, which contemplate the construction by 2028 of a total of 18,400 new protected homes.

"Do you remember how many times Pedro Sánchez has promised homes? (...) Do you know how many he has made? None," criticized Martínez-Almeida, who emphasized that Madrid is "leading" in public housing investment, contrasting the 811 million euros allocated by the capital in the last three years with the 256 million of Barcelona, governed by the socialist Jaume Collboni.
