The Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, has highlighted this Friday "the work of the thousands of civil servants of the Tax Agency" and has underlined "the effort, the work, the dignity and the good performance of all civil servants of the General Administration of the State" and, specifically, of those of that body. At the same time, and in relation to the strikes called in the sector, he has stressed that dialogue remains open, "as it could not be otherwise".
España made these statements in a press briefing during his visit to the new Tragsa facilities in Paterna (Valencia), where he was asked about the mobilizations and protests of the staff that are being carried out within the Tax Agency.
"We continue negotiating within the Tax Agency, as it could not be otherwise. It is our job and obligation," said the head of Finance, insisting that the way to channel the conflict is through negotiation.
In this context, Arcadi España has defended "the work of the thousands of civil servants of the Tax Agency who are suffering a systematic attack by the right and the far-right, accusing them of crimes when all they are is independent people, very well-prepared civil servants, from the first to the last," and has remarked that "they are doing normal work within a democracy" such as "a good progressive tax system."
"I want to highlight the effort, the work, the dignity and the good performance of all civil servants of the General Administration of the State, in this case, of the tax administration," the minister concluded, reiterating his support for public personnel and his commitment to maintaining open conversations.
