BBVA has decided to redeem the 52.8 million own shares acquired in the second tranche of its nearly 4 billion euro share buyback program, as communicated this Wednesday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

This "megaprogram" was structured in three phases, and the last one, for a total of 1.46 billion, is currently underway. The other two tranches totaled 2.5 billion.

In the second phase, the entity bought 52.8 million shares, with a unit nominal value of 0.49 euros, which is equivalent to a total amount of 25.9 million euros of share capital.

Once the redemption is executed, BBVA's share capital is set at 2,734,790,209.90 euros, represented by 5,581,204,510 shares, each with a nominal value of 0.49 euros.
