Bodegas Franco-Españolas takes a new step in its direct relationship with the consumer with the launch of LucIA, a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence, which arrives at the same time as its renewed online store.
Both initiatives pursue the same goal: to make communication with the customer easier, to offer faster and tailored service, and to bring the world of wine closer to audiences who still do not know it in depth.
LucIA joins the team at Bodegas Franco-Españolas as an assistant always available to resolve the questions of those who want to discover the winery, plan a visit, book any of its wine tourism experiences, or manage a private or company event.
Through clear and direct dialogue, it provides information about activities, opening times, and available spots, guiding the user toward the proposal that best fits what they are looking for.
In addition, its capabilities are not limited to managing visits. LucIA also acts as a digital sommelier, guiding the buyer in selecting the wine based on everyday questions: what they are going to eat, who they will share the bottle with, or for what specific moment they want it.
Thus, any user can receive a suggestion tailored to their tastes without needing to master concepts such as grape varieties, designations of origin, or production methods.
A new way to choose wine: finding your match
Bodegas Franco-Españolas’ new online store, tienda.francoespanolas.com, proposes a shopping experience in which drinking occasions are at the center.
Instead of the classic listings, structured mainly by wine types or technical data, the platform suggests starting the search from real situations: a dinner with friends, a special celebration, a gift to give, or a bottle to open at home any Tuesday.
Within this digital setting, LucIA integrates Tu Match, a feature that makes it possible to find the ideal wine in just a few steps, both for those who are already wine lovers and for those choosing a wine for the first time.
Technology at the service of people
The development of LucIA has been carried out together with The Torre Wine Platform, the unit of the technology company JIG that brings together its digital solutions aimed at the wine sector. It is a project that connects the history of a winery with more than a hundred years of track record with the opportunities offered by conversational artificial intelligence.
For Elena Pilo, Director of Vino & Experiencias of Bodegas Franco-Españolas, "technology makes sense when it helps us improve people's experience".
"With LucIA—she adds—we want to make things easier for those who visit us, organize an event, or look for a wine for a specific occasion. That they can resolve their doubts quickly and easily, and that they find a close, personal attention from the very first moment".
And she states that "we are a winery that has approached one and a half centuries of history, but we have always understood that we must evolve with our customers. Artificial intelligence offers us new possibilities to do so, without losing something that is fundamental for us: personal treatment and the direct relationship with those who trust Franco-Españolas".
For Javier Gurría, cofounder of The Torre, "LucIA serves users and allows them to book a visit within the same conversation, with the winery's real availability, so the team has more time for what is important: welcoming whoever arrives".
