The technology consulting firm Izertis has announced the Izertis Foundation, a new organization that is born with the mission of putting knowledge, the capacity for innovation, and technological experience at the service of society, promoting research, education, collaboration, and equality of opportunities.

The announcement was made by the president of Izertis, Pablo Martín Rodríguez, during the celebration of the company's 30th anniversary, which took place in Gijón in front of nearly a hundred representatives from the political, economic, and social spheres of Asturias.

"Throughout these thirty years we have promoted social, cultural, scientific, and educational initiatives that have always had technology as a common link. The Izertis Foundation is born to give shape and coherence to that commitment and to support projects that are worthwhile because they contribute to the progress of society," Martín explained.

The new foundation will have Spanish nationality and will primarily develop its activities throughout the national territory, without prejudice to the fact that it may also promote international actions.

The entity's activity will be structured around four fundamental axes: research and knowledge; innovation with social impact; education and talent development; and alliances with universities, research centers, companies, public administrations, and social entities.

Among the planned lines of work is the promotion of studies and reports on the effects of technology on society, addressing issues such as health, aging, new professional skills, the impact of artificial intelligence on employment and education, the digital divide, accessibility, and the responsible use of data.

Additionally, the foundation will promote digital solutions aimed at improving people's lives in areas such as education, the autonomy of the elderly, or inclusion, as well as collaborating in digital training, education, and mentoring programs, with special attention to young people and vulnerable groups.

The Board of the Foundation held its constitution meeting with Helena Ríos Oostendorp as president, Cristina Tuero as vice president, and composed of Lourdes Argüelles, Isabel Lozano, and Miguel Ángel Acero, in addition to Irene Sáenz de Santamaría as secretary and Carla Carrio as vice secretary.
