Julius Baer has appointed Peter Burrill as the new Chief Financial Officer of the group and a member of its Board of Directors, effective August 17 and subject to the final approval of the competent supervisory authorities.

The appointment comes after the entity announced in April the decision of Evie Kostakis, current Chief Financial Officer, to resign and leave the group once an orderly transition process is completed.

Burrill brings a career of over 30 years linked to the financial sector and joins Julius Baer from Standard Chartered, where he has spent the last nine years of his career and where he served as interim Group Chief Financial Officer and a member of the management team.

Previously, the executive served for five years as Head of Central Finance and Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer, worked at Deutsche Bank, and took his first professional steps at KPMG as an auditor in the firm's financial services area, eventually becoming a partner in the Munich and Frankfurt offices. Burrill holds a degree in Business Economics from the University of California.
