Qatar Airways has launched this Wednesday a new route with two weekly frequencies that connects Doha (Qatar) with Caracas (Venezuela) and Bogotá (Colombia) using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. With this operation, the company becomes the first airline in the Persian Gulf to fly to the Latin American country and to establish a direct connection from the Middle East with both capitals.

The flight schedule has been set up to facilitate agile connections through Hamad International Airport to “key” markets such as Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, the airline has detailed in a statement.

With regard to Bogotá, the Qatar company has expanded its collaboration agreement with Latam to integrate Latam Airlines Colombia, so that it will add its code on the routes operated by Latam between the Colombian capital and cities in the country such as Cartagena, Armenia, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Leticia, or Medellín, among others.

The combination of Caracas and Bogotá represents Qatar Airways’ 16th and 17th destination in the Americas. The airline entered South America in 2010 with its inaugural flight to São Paulo (Brazil).

Tickets for these new services are already available on Qatar Airways’ website and in its mobile application.
