Renfe has announced that this Friday it will activate an "alternative transport plan" on the Madrid-Andalusia corridor, after the accident that occurred this Wednesday in Los Yébenes (Toledo), in which at least 68 people have died and which has caused the indefinite suspension of the high-speed line that connects Madrid, Ciudad Real and Andalusia.

"The company is finalizing the scheduling of these services," the operator noted in a statement sent this Wednesday, in which it specifies that it will make the timetables, routes and services available "as soon as the operation has been defined".

At the same time, the company has warned that the strike called for this Thursday may generate "disruptions" in "the services of certain hubs and corridors", even on "trains subject to minimum services", and therefore urges users to travel by train "when it is essential".

As an immediate response to the high-speed line cutoff, Renfe has launched special services on the conventional track to connect Madrid, Ciudad Real and Puertollano in both directions, which means an approximate increase of one hour and a half in travel time.

In this line, the company details that "for the Madrid-Ciudad Real-Puertollano services departures will be made from Madrid Pta. Atocha at 8:00, 10:30, 12:00, 14:00, 16:30, 18:00, 20:00 and 22:30h".

Likewise, it is indicated that "for the Ciudad Real-Madrid services departures will be made from Ciudad Real at 7:15, 9:00, 11:00, 13:30, 15:00, 17:00, 19:30 and 21:00h".

For their part, "for the Puertollano-Madrid services departures will be made from Puertollano at 04:45, 6:45, 8:15, 10:00, 12:00,15:30, 18:15 and 20:15 h".

Renfe emphasizes that it maintains "changes and cancellations at no cost" for "those affected by the suspension of the high-speed line" and that the Atocha, Sevilla, Córdoba and Málaga stations "will be open" 24 hours a day "to attend to all those people who need it", through the Family Care Centers installed in Madrid, Córdoba and Sevilla, where there is specialized psychological care staff.
