Sacyr has decided to compete for a concession contract to take on the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a new hospital complex in Canada, whose estimated total value exceeds 2.000 billion Canadian dollars, equivalent to about 1.280 billion euros at the current exchange rate.

The infrastructure department of the province of Ontario has stated that a consortium in which Sacyr participates as a construction partner has been included among the two only preselected groups to submit an economic and technical bid in order to win this contract.

The project corresponds to one of the lots tendered by the administration to build the Fancsy Family Hospital in the city of Windsor, centered on the five-story diagnostic and treatment building, which will house the main entrance and most of the outpatient services of the healthcare complex.

In this consortium, alongside the Spanish company, are also Plenary Americas, B+H Architects, Amico and Johnson Controls Canada, which will compete for the award with the EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare group. The official forecast is that the final decision on the contract will be made public in the autumn of next year.

The concession of this first lot will allow the winning consortium to start with a favorable position in the next tender, corresponding to the second contract still pending to be called and necessary to complete the hospital's full development.

For the moment, the administration has not disclosed the specific amount associated with this first contract, as it remains subject to negotiation with the group that turns out to be awarded the project. The value of the hospital complex as a whole exceeds 2.000 billion Canadian dollars.
