Yanuna, a new high-end coastal residential and tourism community designed in Punta Macao (Dominican Republic), has unveiled the latest developments of its development plan. The project involves an estimated total investment of $1,000 million (about €890 million), financed entirely with Dominican capital, as the development entity has announced.

The complex, whose official presentation was attended by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, will be built on a plot of 2.7 million square meters. The plan includes hotels from international brands, luxury residences, an extensive dining concept, and spaces dedicated to well-being.

In the initial phase, the development will include two establishments from the Marriott International portfolio totaling 548 rooms: The Ritz-Carlton Yanuna, with 250 rooms and conceived as the first hotel of this brand in the Caribbean country, and Casa Mirayá, a Luxury Collection Hotel, with 298 rooms and an offer focused on local culture.

"Yanuna is born from a deep conviction in what the Dominican Republic can offer the world. We want to contribute to the evolution of our tourism with a community that brings together the wealth of this territory, international standards of excellence, and our own way of receiving and caring for those who visit us," Yamil E. Isaías, president of the Yanuna Board and representative of the investment of the Pioneer II Societies Development Fund, has highlighted.

Exclusive residences and a sustainable focus

In addition to the hotel offering, the first phase of the project includes the construction of 25 luxury residences, organized into three different typologies (Caicú, Bayacú, and Jiva), depending on their orientation toward the beach, the elevated areas of the land, or the zones of vegetation.

For his part, the president of the Consejo of The Ritz-Carlton Yanuna and Casa Mirayá, Javier Tejada, has emphasized that with this initiative the company takes "one step further than the conventional tourism concept to bring to life a new destination of hospitality and luxury."

In environmental matters, the company has explained that the master plan is supported by previously developed soils and makes use of existing infrastructure, in order to reduce land movements to a minimum. All of this is framed within a sustainable management model that aims to balance economic profitability with the protection of the environment.

In successive phases, the project includes the addition of a third hotel and a space called "Village Center", which will bring together the main commercial, gastronomic, leisure and wellness offering of the complex.
