The Assembly of Extremadura will hold this Thursday, 5 November, a plenary session in which the housing situation, the theft of data from the Extremadura Health Service, and the generalised increase in prices will concentrate a large part of the parliamentary debate.
The first plenary session of November will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Hemicycle with the opposition’s questions to the members of the Government Council. These questions will focus on the Foundation Instituto Extremeño del Mestizaje, the situation of public educational centres, and the actions taken by the Board to safeguard the health data taken in the cyberattack on the Extremadura Health Service known last week.
Next, the plenary will proceed to the election of the members of the Board of Directors of the public company Corporación Extremeña de Medios Audiovisuales (Cexma).
Then, the deputy of Unidas por Extremadura, Juan Alessandro Schirinzi, will put forward an interpellation to the regional executive regarding its personnel management policy.
Housing plan and strategy against fires
In the block of appearances by members of the Government Council, the first to speak will be the Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Francisco Ramírez, who, on his own initiative, will set out the details of the Housing, Rehabilitation and Land Plan of Extremadura 2026-2030, approved by the Government Council on 27 October 2026.
After his intervention, and at the request of the Socialist Group, the vice-president and minister of the Presidency, Coordination of Government Action, Interior and Emergencies, Abel Bautista, will take the floor to provide information on the coordination of the Board of Extremadura with a view to the 2026 forest fire campaign.
The agenda also includes a subsequent motion to the interpellation, registered by Unidas por Extremadura, with which the Board of Extremadura is urged to adopt specific measures in the area of the generation of biogas and biomethane, as well as in waste management.
Transport aid and residential market tension zones
The session also includes the debate of three proposals for impetus. The first, from the Grupo Socialista, calls on the Junta of Extremadura to launch an extraordinary call for direct aid to support the economic sustainability of companies and professionals in public freight and passenger transport affected by the increase in the price of fuels.
The second proposal will again focus on the housing problem. Unidas por Extremadura proposes urging the Junta to declare, ex officio, Tensioned Residential Market Zones, review the modules and maximum prices of the Vivienda de Protección Oficial (VPO), and redirect the regional policy on land and housing.
For its part, the Grupo Socialista will call on the regional Executive to ensure public funding for the Consejo de la Juventud de Extremadura in order to sustain its operating structure, guarantee respect for its autonomy, and maintain investments in research.
The plenary session will close with the debate of a proposal for a statement by the Grupo Popular, in which the Government is urged to protect families’ purchasing power through the tax reduction of basic foods and energy, the deflation of the IRPF, and the adoption of stable measures in the face of the rise in fuel prices.
