The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has issued a warning aimed at those who suffer from egg allergy due to the presence of this allergen, which does not appear on the labeling, in the surimi product with shrimp "MeloDIA marinera con gambas al ajillo", from the DIA Mari Marinera brand.

The agency became aware of the incident through the Coordinated Rapid Information Exchange System (SCIRI), following an alert notification transmitted by the health authorities of the Basque Country.

The affected food is "MeloDIA marinera con gambas al ajillo", marketed under the DIA Mari Marinera brand in plastic trays. The lots involved and their expiration dates are: L260566GGO, with date November 30, 2027; L260642GGO, with date December 31, 2027; L260747GGO, L260754GGO and L260769GGO, with date January 31, 2028; and L260942GGO, L260951GGO and L260962GGO, with date March 31, 2028.

The Agency has indicated that these data have been disseminated through the Coordinated Rapid Information Exchange System (SCIRI) so that the withdrawal of the affected lots from points of sale can be checked.

As a preventive measure, AESAN advises people allergic to egg who have this product at home to avoid consuming it.
