The assessment that citizens make of their own state of health shows a positive evolution in the second wave of 2026 of the "Barómetro Sanitario" of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), compared with the first release disseminated in July by this body and the Ministerio de Sanidad.

According to the data from the survey, prepared from the responses of 2,644 participants, 70.3 percent rate their health as very good or good, which implies an increase of 2.8 percentage points compared with the 67.5 percent recorded in the previous study. For its part, 23 percent define it as fair, 4.6 percent judge it bad and 2 percent value it as very bad.

Consequently, the group of people who consider that their state of health is negative stands at 29.8 percent, below the 32.3 percent counted four months ago. Likewise, 48.2 percent declare suffering from some chronic illness or health problem, while 50.9 percent state that they have no health problem and 0.9 percent choose not to respond.
