The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has decided to extend the alert again for the presence of undeclared almond and egg in a dessert manufactured in Spain. This concerns the product "Delicias de Galleta María", after confirming that an additional batch is involved in the incident.
The agency details that it has been informed, "through the responsible company", of the withdrawal of batch "0807BK", whose expiry date is July 8. This batch is in addition to the one already under alert, "3006BK, with an expiry date of June 30.
AESAN specifies that this information "is the result of the company's own self-monitoring, which has communicated the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the public".
DISTRIBUTION "IN ALMOST THE ENTIRE NATIONAL TERRITORY"
Consequently, the batches involved are the aforementioned ones of the brand "La Lechera", whose product is marketed under the name "Delicias de Galleta María". They are sold in packs of two units of 125 grams, kept refrigerated.
"According to the information available, the distribution has been in almost the entire national territory," the agency has indicated. Furthermore, "this information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels".
In conclusion, the institution emphasizes that, "as a precautionary measure, it is recommended that people with allergies to almonds or eggs who may have the aforementioned product in their homes refrain from consuming it". In any case, it clarifies that "the consumption of this product does not pose any risk to the rest of the population".
