The European Society for Clinical Investigation (ESCI) has awarded the researcher from the National Center for Cardiovascular Research Carlos III (CNIC), José Javier Fuster, its "Award for Clinical Research Excellence for a Young Investigator," an award that highlights his outstanding scientific career.

From the CNIC, they have detailed that the decision "was adopted unanimously" by the Council of this European scientific society, which has underlined "the quality and impact of the research activity" carried out by this scientist "in the field of biomedical and cardiovascular research." Likewise, they have recalled that this award "recognizes researchers whose scientific contributions have led to significant advances in clinical research."

The center has specified that the official presentation of the award will take place in Lisbon, during the ESCI Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held from June 3 to 5. In this context, Fuster, head of the CNIC's Vascular Pathophysiology group, "leads studies focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms linking inflammation, metabolism, and cardiovascular disease."

As the CNIC has emphasized, this researcher's work "has contributed to improving the understanding of the biological processes involved in the development of cardiovascular and metabolic pathologies," and this international recognition strengthens his "scientific projection" and "demonstrates the relevance of the cardiovascular research being developed."

The institution has also recalled that the ESCI is "dedicated to promoting clinical and translational research," and has stressed that the award also highlights its "commitment" to "the training and promotion of new generations of excellent researchers."
