The Minister of Presidency, Coordination of Government Action and Local Cooperation, Antònia Estarellas, has defended the call for a position of Deputy Director of News at IB3 as a process that complies with the regulations for hiring senior management, after the PSIB deputy, Pilar Costa, stated that it "smells fishy".
"Isn't it the case that they thought of a person and then created the position?", asked the deputy Pilar Costa, who criticized that neither Catalan language proficiency nor a degree in Journalism or Communication is required for this position.
Estarellas maintained that this is not a senior management position and that its creation has been carried out in accordance with current regulations. Furthermore, she rejected the PSIB's intention to politicize any matter related to IB3.
For her part, the socialist deputy lamented what she considers the "degradation" of the entity with a "clear intentionality" and alluded to the criticisms from the works council regarding management decisions that, in her opinion, are affecting the quality, rigor, and credibility of the public media.
