The full Parliament is scheduled to debate next Tuesday the capital law proposal of Palma, a regulation that is expected to move forward with the support, at least, of the PP and the PSIB, as well as the reform of the civil law specific to the Balearic Islands regarding inheritances in life between spouses.
Both issues are shaping up to be the central points of a plenary session that will begin at 09:00 hours and will last, in principle, until 14:30 hours. Following this, a new plenary will be held to address the 162 resolution proposals derived from the General Policy Debate registered by the different parliamentary groups.
The capital law was initially approved by the Palma City Council at the end of last year and, months later, the Parliament agreed to take it into consideration with the support of the PP, PSIB, and Vox.
However, the formation of Santiago Abascal has indicated that it will change the direction of its vote, citing its rejection of the incorporation of amendments on issues unrelated to the original text during the processing. Nevertheless, the support of 'popular' and socialists would be enough to advance the legislative initiative.
In the same session on Tuesday, the plenary must pronounce on the possibility of processing by single reading the law proposal that modifies the property regime of marriage, approved unanimously two weeks ago.
If this expedited procedure is endorsed, the deputies will vote in that same plenary on the final approval of the proposal, which, in general terms, would enable inheritances in life between spouses.
Alongside these two regulatory projects, the agenda includes the debate of two motions, one related to climate policies and another on agricultural law, in addition to an interpellation on public housing policies. All these initiatives have been presented by the socialist group.
Control session of the Govern and current affairs
With all this, the parliamentary day will begin, as usual, with the control session of the Govern. The councilors must respond to questions related to housing, health, environmental protection, and tourism.
Questions will also be raised about current affairs, such as the deficiencies detected in two large poultry farms in Manacor, the controversy over the possible removal of the statue of Christ the King of Sant Salvador de Felanitx, or the leak of personal data of a woman evicted by a vulture fund in Palma.
The president of the Govern, Marga Prohens, will have to respond to questions related to the defense of tenants (Unidas Podemos), the measures for those who cannot rent or buy a house (MÉS per Mallorca), the priorities of the spending ceiling for 2027 (Vox) and the "given word" (PSIB).
