The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reported this Wednesday the execution in the Gaza Strip of a man accused of collaborating with the Israeli authorities, whom they link to the deadly attack perpetrated in May against the former leader of the Palestinian group's military wing, Izz al Din Haddad.
According to a note released by the newspaper 'Filastin', the security forces dependent on Hamas carried out the execution of an individual identified by the initials M.M., whom they describe as a "collaborator" with Israel.
In the statement, the de facto authorities in Gaza maintain that the measure is adopted due to "his responsibility in the murder of the head of the Ezzeldin al-Qassam Brigades Izz al Din Haddad and his participation in other murders and massacres in the Gaza Strip".
Likewise, the security forces warn that this type of punishment will be the "destiny" of those who cooperate with the "occupation and those who align themselves with its plans to undermine the steadfastness and unity" of the Palestinian population.
"We call on all those who have strayed from the path and have tied their destiny to the occupation to return to the bosom of the nation before it is too late and surrender to the security forces of the Resistance (Hamas)," they add in the statement.
Izz al Din Haddad died along with his wife and daughter on May 15 in an Israeli bombing raid against the north of the Gaza Strip.
