The Israeli Army has reported this Thursday the capture of five Palestinians in several raids carried out in the West Bank, including a "terrorist" who was allegedly preparing an attack "in the near future," without offering further details about possible targets.

According to the military statement, the operations took place "during the last two days" and the main suspect was apprehended in the city of Jenin. Additionally, another man "linked to Hamas" was detained in the town of Tsida, while the other three suspects were arrested in Qalandia and Al Bira.

The Army has also detailed that among those detained in Al Bira is "a terrorist involved in the manufacture of explosives," emphasizing that all those arrested have been handed over to the security forces for custody and interrogation.

These raids are part of the surge in military incursions and settler attacks in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, the date of the attacks against Israel led by Hamas. However, in the first nine months of that same year, a record number of Palestinians had already died in these territories in the last two decades, since the Second Intifada.
