The Houthi insurgency of Yemen has reported this Tuesday an air bombardment allegedly carried out by the coalition led by Saudi Arabia, which would have left three dead and eight injured in a shoe factory located in the southwestern province of Taiz, one of the areas hardest hit by the war that pits the rebels against the internationally recognized Yemeni Government and the alliance led by Riyadh.
The announcement has been disseminated on social media by the spokesperson for the Houthi Ministry of Health, Anis Alasbahi, who has specified that the eleven victims are "workers of the factory". He has also indicated that "the rescue teams continue working at the scene of the events", in the district of At Taiziya, north of the provincial capital.
Hours earlier, the same spokesperson had denounced the death of three minors and various injuries in other children in another attack likewise attributed to Saudi aviation in the south of Taiz, specifically in the district of Ash Shamayatain.
Subsequently, Alasbahi made public the balance of victims recorded by the Houthi authorities in the last 24 hours under "the Saudi aggression", in which the death of 17 people is recorded, "the majority of them children", as well as 59 injured, among whom there would also be "a large number of children".
"The vast majority of the victims are children, which confirms that the air attacks had as their objective shelters, residential neighborhoods and crowded markets", he has denounced, before maintaining that "the continued air bombardment during this period reflects a systematic policy aimed at causing the greatest possible number of civilian victims".
